Recommendation's for Insurance

Sorry for the ho - hum topic

Just wondering if anyone can recommend an insurance company for studio gear, especially for the stuff that doesn't just stay in the one location.

More importantly I would really appreciate if anyone would like to point out who to avoid. By the time I have tried to read even one insurance PDS. I am ready to stick pins in my eyes.

So far. I am looking at quotes from Action & AON, just wondering if there are any alternatives.

marsh.com.au – musicians insurance – gear is covered while it 'floats' between locations. They had a good rep when I took out my insurance but the policy is sold on from a larger broker so it may be cheaper to go direct.

AON - gear insured by AON insurance also has global coverage - anywhere anyplace in the world and even if gear was accidenlty dropped or damaged in transit (eg. planes!)

If you're an APRA member (as everyone out there playing original music should be) then there are member discounts with some insurance companies.

Another ups for Marsh. Unfortunately i've had to make a claim for theft and they were great. My brother also has claimed for accidental damage at a gig caused by punters and they were great as well.

From bitter experience with my 28 year old car. I've found that you never really know how good your insurance cover is until you need it. Which is never a good time to find out that there's some loophole. So I wanted to say thanks all for sharing your experiences. Very much appreciated.
