You know I wanted to muck around with my recording gear to sculpt a good bass sound through different pre-amps and I did not want to go through the hassle of going through the audio interface and power the computer up. I just wanted a quick way of plugging in my bass to a pre-amp maybe a compressor or two with different outboard eq options.
This was done to get a feel for each different Pre-amp, COMp, and eq. Even different DI's sound different.
I finally found the product that did it where I could monitor through the headphones (Sennheiser HD595) to get a sense of how the bass would sound if recorded through these different signal chains.
The cMoy was magnificent.
This is the one I chose with the OPA2227 opamp.

The balanced unbalance thing was no problem and my gear hooks up fine.
You can really hear what is happening now, I think all my recordings will now be a big improvement.
I will have to start working on keyboards next, with electric guitars and accoustic to follow.
Just bought one of the Beesneez James mics so that will go through the testing phase as well.
Cheers
