Pro Tools and routing audio to third party interface??

I need to use Pro Tools for a couple of weeks and am trying to figure out the cheapest way to do it. Current hardware is a mac running Logic with a RME Fireface 800.

Does anyone know if it's possible to route the audio internaly from Pro Tools to the RME interface? That way i could get by with the Micro.

If you don't need to track anything why not just use the micro's output? Pretty sure no-one has come up with a hack to make 'tools use another interface.

Otherwise you could just rent a 'tools system of one of the guys here who do that sort of thing.

Can't you just import the PT files into Logic and work as usual?

Is Logic able to open Pro-Tools sessions? If so the more I hear about it the more interested I get in Logic... If only it wasn't Mac only :(

You can export an OMF file from PT to Logic as long as you have digi translator. Otherwise SSL's pro convert software will do the translation.

You need to pay extra to be able to export omf from 'tools? That's a bit rude.. Sonar does it right out of the box.

You can save the midi as a midi-file and export from PT into Logic. You can also save the audio in some compatible format (such as WAV files) and import into Logic.
I know people who use both programs together regularly.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think i'll just go with bouncing down the wavs and importing them - don't trust the headphone out on the micro for any mixing tasks and i've discovered Pro Tools won't run with something like jack tools for routing......bummer
