Not sure where to put this but wanted to let those of you who are following my cancer journey know how I'm doing.

In short, pretty good... all things considered. The chemo is brutal and messes me up the week I'm on it but I am able to work every other week, which is good. I tend to be recovered by Saturday/Sunday from a Tuesday infusion. So far I've had 200 hours of infusions with another 100 to go.

The tumor markers in my blood stream are dropping rapidly after only 3 rounds. 63% down as of last count. Still have 2 more infusions to go before re-scanning the affected areas to see what's left, if anything. Should know more by end of January.

Thanks to those of you keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.

Kris.

THat's really positive news Kris. Great to hear you are still able to do some work, but even moreso your whole attitude towards this has been a great example for others.
You are one tough bastard.
Keep it up.
Cheers.

Good on ya Kris!!! I reckon trying to do the things you usually do is a good thing, help keep your mind off other things. Just don't over do it. Anyway you know what's best for you.

300 hours of infusions farout, heavy shit.

Will do, Kris. Its odd, 2009 has been a really bad year for many people I know, everything from cancer to losing jobs to parents dying / getting dementia - far more so than other years that I can recall.

May 2010 see you stronger in body, mind and faith.

Yeah, this year has seen a lot of awful stuff in our circle of friends too. Cancer, miscarriages, deaths. It's just awful when you see people going through stuff and you're not always able to help them due to your own circumstances. I'm hoping to be able to help self employed cancer patients when I get clear of this. At least they will know I know what they're going through. Gonna hit up the top 100 companies in Australia and shake some support loose from their bulging bottom lines. It doesn't have to be much but some rent or mortgage support would do wonders for a lot of people I've seen.

"When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required."

I reckon I've been given a whole lot of "much"..... need to help other people now.

Hi guys...

As of today my blood tests show no active cancer in my bowel... which means remission.

Still a little way to go with the liver but getting close.

I won't know if the tumors are still there and dead or completely gone until the doctors have another look in a month or so but it's still really good news.

Thanks to all for the kind words and prayers. It means a lot.

Kris.
