non-hardening acoustic rated caulk

any ideas where to obtain a non-hardening acoustic rated caulk,and its brand name?

i was just in a shop looking at a new boral product i had never seen before
i think it was call fire stop or fire set , i am sure i will remember it .
but it reading the blurb it was just the stuff , had a bunch of acoustic ratings etc
and priced well

i have seen nearly every kind of mastic in bunnings used ...

green glue of coarse is the current world wide fave .

I used Bostik's "Paintable sealant"...yeah I think that's the name on the tube...I know it sounds a bit plain and simple, but this stuff will tolerate 25% movement and has done a great job for me...I have a few exposed places I used it on, and after 3 years it's still intact with no cracks/gaps...It's about $7 a tube at bunnings

CSR Fire Mastic. $11 tube direct from CSR trade outlets. It's white and stays flexible and is acoustically rated. This comes in a sausage so you're going to need a proper gun which will cost more initially, but if you're applying a lot of this stuff its much easier to use.

Not sure why you would want to use Green Glue for this application. That's a different product designed to use between sheets of plaster, not really a sealant.

agreed...and if that stuff is $11 a sausage, it's bloody cheap

green glue IS non hardening acoustic caulk - abiet a bit runny and very expensive
i have seen it used it many applications beside plaster fixing .

the csr thing sounds right, and if i remember the boral ones name i will post - i am sure its the same deal and price .

it doesnt matter too much what you use as long as you make what ever you are treating treating air tight and the product doesnt set hard, but air tight is the trick
