AUDITRONICS GRANDSON POWER SUPPLY

Postby PRINCETOWN » Wed Oct 06, 2010 11:36 am

Hi Turtlerockers,i have a problem with a tripping safety switch,(my AUDITRONICS power supply has been recently serviced so i assume this is ok)the problem can b fixed by removing the earth from the power supply untill the unit is up to operating temp, then reconnecting the earth, i know this is not safe but at this stage i have no option or i dont work.
With this senario i can work all day, however, the following day the safety switch will have done its thing and wont allow me to turn on the power supply untill i disconect the earth AGAIN ?
if it was earth leakage why after the unit is up to operating temp does it not trip the safety switch? moisture? temperature? dust? sparkys have given me all kinds of theories but still continues to trip the safety switch?

dazzed and confused

so following our discussion yesterday the replacement breaker didn't solve the problem?

if so and if it the Auditronics PSU that is causing the problem only ... rather than an accumulation of gear that would lead to the breaker tripping as you described to me then the PSU is faulty

this PSU uses mains side relays for remote control power on / off. It is quite conceiveable that they are faulty and unless it was tested in the workshop for leakage remains a possibility.
