Hi all,
Looking at getting one of these quite cheap for the studio, and after searching these forums, I've found a few posts describing several hot rods that can be done to improve noise floor, op amps etc... Does anyone have information who does these mods? Or info on the DIY mods for it?
thanks for your help...

Hi Gary,
Mines in bits getting recapped atm, but should be finished by end of next week  . Trying to decide if I should make each channel plug-able (easier to get at in future) or just run wires to connect each channel like it did before (easier to do). I've also put chip sockets in so I can try diff op amps in the future but for now just getting it back together and working so I can use it is top priority. This is what I've done/going to do: good clean with progold/deoxit, newer caps (105 degrees), star grounding, remove power supply from desk and put in seperate box, balance outputs, give outside clean with mr sheen...or something to that effect.
Its a very basic circuit so it may not be what your after....Improving noise floor, well at the risk of being shot down it seems that alot of the noise we get is from noisey AC so going with a balanced AC setup may be far more effective than alot of the things we do to reduce noise e.g. shouting at neighbours dog.
P.S I have the mc34002 (tl082) version which does not have the ne5534 chip in it.
