Tape Shortages

With the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Sony's Sendai plant has been wiped out. This particular plant was the only place in the world where a lot of Video tape stock was manufactured so we're experiencing a severe worldwide shortage.

Not sure if it's affected the audio industry yet but in my search for HDCam tapes I stumbled across this link...
