A friend of mine asked me to compose a piece against the rythym of a small offset printing press. By small, it still weighs over a tonne! This was a difficult task. I'm actually a press operator for 14 years and own a printing company - but it's not the most inspiring thing to write about.
Off and On for 8 months (mostly off) I worked on this piece. It's hard to write emotional content for an inanimate object! I only just named it as Printers Lullaby after completing it. It's a lullaby for the press, not the operator...: )

Printers Lullaby
After a hard days work, those machines need to have a good rest at night. Excited from the day and all the adventures they've been through, they take a while to settle in. After they've drunk their warm milk and cookies and brushed their teeth, it's time for the Printers Lullaby to get them snuggly off to sleep.
Night, Night...
