Vacuum Tube dampening..??

Hey guys...

I stumbled on "vacuum tube dampeners" on ebay...

never heard of this stuff before...

Has anyone ever tried these or know if they help the sound out???

Im curious about whether these might help the sound good guitar tube amps...

Just what vibration (the hairtie goes around the outside of the tube glass) is this supposed to damp?
