Levon is in the final stages of his battle with cancer. I saw him in October and even then he only sang a few songs and his voice was thin and raspy. Nothing wrong with his drumming, it was a wonderful performance and venue and that night remains the highlight of my musical life....and I've seen a lot of really good stuff!

It's just a bad feeling when your heroes leave

Yeah, I'm very sad I'll never get to see him play now. What an incredible drummer, and great singer too.
I saw him on that Elvis Costello TV show last year (I think the performance was a year or two old) and he played great, but couldn't even talk.
He seemed like a really nice guy that just loved to play. Hope it's gentle for him.

Hmmmmm.......it's sad, not much else can be said. Been a fan of The Band as a whole since Big Pink first arrived, the vinyls of their albums have been well played
