Mackie HR624's Mk1

[Bent my VU]

Has anyone got any experience with these? I'm considering another pair of monitors and noticed a pair of these on ebay, there's also a pair of 824s but they'd probably be a bit big for my space.

What's the going price for a used pair these days?

I'm sure you'll find plenty of haters, but there's also plenty of these happily in use in studios around the world. More 824s than 624s I guess.

I've got 824 Mk1's and 624 Mk2's, which my ears are used to after 10+ plus years (starting with the 824s). I like them both, and plan to keep them as my main monitors, with maybe some Avantone Mixcubes to complement.

Haven't tried the 624 Mk1's specifically though.

Not sure of going rates.

Ask the seller if there's any sign of the black surface peeling off - my 824's are looking a little tatty, and I think it's a relatively common problem.

Yeah it looks like the paint is peeling off in the pics he's put up - mainly around the power switch.

Thanks for the feedback on them. I'll give them a go I reckon.
