Powering MV692

Hey all, I have some MV692 on order and they're not set up for xlr/ P48. I'm wondering how people here have powered their Gefell 691's and 2's. The options I see are:

getting a special cable
getting a Neumann/ Gefell power supply
modifying the mic body

Do any of the options have sonic advantages over the others? Does anyone know who might be able to mod them?

I'm pretty sure Gunter Wagner or Ben Sneesby could do it, but they would still have to get the parts from Microtech Gefell in Germany.
I have 2 x MV692s that already have the 48v mod, but have sent them to Andreas Grosser in Germany to get brought up to spec. According to him, you can then have 12 dBU more pressure level and have ~ 4-5 dBA lower noise. He can do the 48v mod as well.
I have also sent my M582 to get the mod that enables you to use a UM70 cap with it.
The reason I sent my mics to Germany rather than local is that Andreas is very familiar with these mics.

you're not coming over to Integrate are you? If you were I reckon I could do a mod on that mic for 48volt operation quick smart at On the Bench Live.
The various schematics and mods you point to suggest an third and easier way to convert them from 12volt to 48volt

Wow terrific offer Rob ^:)^ well I couldn't let you do that for free, even if it's an easy job

I am planning on dropping into Integrate, so hopefully we can chat then. The mics are in the post, and I may not get them in time to bring them over. There are four of them, hopefully they don't need work other than the xlr and p48. Would love to have them modified locally, so I'll be in touch at least when the MV692's land

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but has any one had any luck with the actual conversion to XLR? I've got a great little 48v-12v circuit built that's small enough to fit inside the mic body, but I'm a little stumped as to how to get an XLR connector on the end without machining something. Is that the only way?

from memory, machining is the only way. I drilled out the end of the mic body to take an XLR insert.
