Best way to ventilate a storage container?

Postby Lee » Mon Oct 29, 2012 2:12 pm

I know someone who wants to use a shipping container as a studio. Im wondering what pit falls he may face and what one would use for air conditioning to keep the gear cool.

Good ol' fashion split system air con perhaps? Get the largest capacity, lowest noise one you can afford so you can leave it running really low yet pump the container full of cool air.

Or if you are game... a window mount unit in the wall? You will compromise sound isolation though, and they are pretty noisy.

Putting a roof over it could reduce the size of the a/c needed considerably.....

Put a ducted split system in there and wack a carbon filter over the output duct. That should definitely do the trick.
