Supposedly a conflict of interest from one of the Deloitte people because they had bought/sold at JRG, so they've passed it onto another firm. Selling and then not paying the client just sounds criminal, IMO.

I wish it was a lol, but I know a youngish mid twenties I.T. guy who recently plonked down $15K on a vintage tele, and he's not that good a player..
The clunks and squawks when he plays do sound very vintage though.

Ha! We all remember a few vintage clunks and squawks. Unfortunately, they don't really mellow with the passing of years!

certainly not defending anyone here.. i think it stinks BUT this stuff happens in business all the time.
being a business owner, and having creditors and debtors and all that stuff... ive seen some horrible stuff.
and always tried really hard to not do similar to others. i always pay my staff even when we dont get paid for jobs and things like that... but there have been some shockers.

i once had a guitar that was destroyed by Qantas at an insurance company to be valued so that they could pay out.
the insurance company went under
and my (well not my, the artist that i was tour managing) guitar went with it (had to join a creditors meeting as discussed above)
no love from the insurance company, the people closing it down, or qantas... bearing in mind the only reason it was there was that they had destroyed it in the first place!!! and of course no one paid out on the claim.
i DID buy the artist a replacement instrument though (sure i probably didnt have to, but thats how gigpiglet rolls)

i was also involved in the "going down" of the metro... many crew, one major PA company, and a whole lot of artists/ booking agents didnt get a cent (well actually, 14 cents in the dollar from memory) from that.
we did find out a bit earlier than some others - and went in and took every bit of our gear that wasn't screwed down (and some that was) out for "maintenance"

i wasnt involved in - but some here may have been a similar event at rhinoceros too??

anyway... my point it... if all you lose is a bit of money or a guitar in business gone bad - you are doing ok.
