Auria for iPad.
Anyone else tried this or using it?
I bought it over the weekend and watched a few tutorial videos.
It looks to be an excellent low cost DAW on any platform, let alone something as convenient and portable as an iPad.
Up to 48 tracks, up to 96khz. Seems to integrate very well with other DAW's, Logic, PT etc...
With a USB interface it makes a powerful and portable remote recording rig. IT will work with my Lynx Aurora for example. I'm probably going to be using it to edit audio while traveling. You can even use Drumagog in it.

I have a RME UXC which is class compliant, which means it will work with the iPad and Auria.

My iPad is version 1


I got auria and tried it quickly, but it crashed on me continually, I think its cause of my iPad and not the UCX or Auria Per se.


thats about as far as I got.

I was planning to record the band I was in, by dragging a be!@#$%^& ADA8000 along and the UCX and the iPad and a snake, but never got that far.

If you have success with it, let me know.

Its still something I might persue.

I'm really new to it. Only this weekend.
But I've been dicking around with their example song, which is quite large, and haven't had a single crash. This is on an iPad Mini.
Looking at the Auria forum, they seem to have had many software revisions, and some have been buggy and unstable.
Maybe the latest version (which I obviously downloaded) will be stable for you.
The RME looks like a great interface for Auria!

So much good stuff coming out in ipad format, and lots of it is creative - unlike most of the recording platforms that try to be everything - and they miss the ball being creative as software designers.
All sort of dumbed down. Now they all do pretty much the same thing.
The Ipad has nerds writing really original stuff. It keeps getting better.

Are there any good MIDI controller apps for iPad yet?

I don't mean a keyboard emulator, I've got real keyboards. I want something which takes advantage of the touch interface for sliding and imprecise pitch.

I tried one once that had a string which you could play like a real string - perfect for violin or fretless bass parts. But the app was otherwise hopeless, it crashed all the time. (Plus it didn't output MIDI, so not really a MIDI controller I guess).

midi stuff is really starting to happen. Arpeggionome is midi only.

Agreed on ipad.
I'll have to get the full size one eventually, although the 'mini' is working out well for most things.
