This I am good at. So far not one piece of wood has been wasted.

Getting the f**ker to be square has been the real challenge, particularly with rubber cushions between every joint (so you can't rely on the wood to provide stiffness). I now have a large pile of ... um... "wooden guides" (are these called "jigs"?) which I clamp into place. I am also using 4 ratchet straps to pull the thing together and compress the rubber. It is very slow, but it seems to work.

and remember, a photo of something that looks terrible now brings much joy to others

..... and finally I have some doors to my "studio" (poetic licence used in that term thankyou)...... a pair of solid timber "barn" doors with mirrors on the back for $20 from the local tip (recycling depot to sound more upmarket ahem).

They made an immediate difference to the sound of silence - it feels very closeted now

Chain keeps the door closed. Sure, any determined burglar could get past it with bolt cutters, but then they could probably get through the wooden doors with an axe anyway.

Any over-engineering is the fault of combining all the advice of T-rockers into a single monstrosity.
