Hi, After a good deal of thought I’m looking to semi-retire in the not too distant future and run the business part-time from home. I’m 67 and have got two young kids, so after school pickups and holidays are becoming a constant problem. As my wife earns more in a day than I do in a week, I’m going to be a house husband and let her look after us financially.
That brings me to the studio.
I know studios are closing down everywhere (except for all the busy beavers around here), but Redwood is a great studio and massively under-utilised ‘cause I’m a grumpy old bastard who hasn’t got the energy or incentive to work nights and weekends. I've had a gut full after nearly 35 years. Now I like playing with the kids more!
So - the studio works very well and is 100% functional, but before I just retire, sell all the gear and lease the building I thought there might be someone out there who feels the need to escape to (or return to) the country, where life is good and where it take me 5 minutes to get to work on a bad day!
You, or someone you know, might have the necessary energy to work nights and weekends and make a reasonable living here.
Upstairs used to be a flat, so you could potentially live here as well.
Real Estate agents tell me I could lease it, as is, for around $500 per week, so I’d need to get at least that back from prospective punters. I know SFA about the legalities of such a situation, but you would obviously have at least some of your own gear, so we’d have to negotiate what was included in the deal.
Check out the website for more details of the facilities.

Look, I don’t expect a great rush of enquiries (I'd be happy to get one!), but it’d be crazy not to put it out there before I rush in with a sledge-hammer and knock out the booths and yank out all the wiring etc.
Has some local muso/engineer just won Tattslotto?
Let’s see...
