I am looking for somebody

Postby rick » Wed May 06, 2015 2:16 pm

Time has come , I am looking to give somebody a career in the business
I am tired of working by myself again .

I guess I want an employee or an offsider or an intern or maybe more then one
Maybe I won't get anybody
but I am now looking to see what's what
If you approach me and it's not the right fit it's
Just the way it is

Who do I want
I dunno .

Conditions ..you must be young ( and that kinda means under 24 )
You must play in a band or at least capable of playing in a band , that is
If you don't play anything don't call me .

You will be able to work computers better then me
You will be able to mop floors better then me
I will never ask you to do anything I wouldn't do
But you will understand that I want somebody to do
Stuff I don't want to do .
I will teach you things you never knew you never knew

I will like you , my clients will like you , you will like you .

That's probably enough to get things started .
When I take this down I have come to a conclusion

I have a friend I think ticks all those boxes and more, who I think would be excellent. I've just buzzed him to see what he says and will let you know ASAP.

I'll exclude myself from contention due to a) not being 24-ish, and b) having a whopping mortgage to pay for ;)

WOOF..........WOOF.

Being an old fart that is 1) very close to "assumed" retiring age, and 2) someone to whom #1 is of no real importance........and given the fact that I'm currently planning how to move our companies facility to new premises and finally employ people to take some of the load, I can understand Rick's requirements re age, there is no way in hell that I will employ someone who's age may be a limiting factor for the future.............that said, I would love the opportunity to sweep Rick's floors. :D
ChrisO.....I think. Oh, and F*#K Google, ask me!

I would also love to do time in Ricks studio too..........
There are some great cruising grounds around Sydney and the fishing is good!

Oh wait a bit...................................Rick wants someone to actually work!!

When I saw the heading, I thought the forum was turning into a dating site.

So, to follow up on my post above, the person I had in mind has passed, as he has other irons in the fire.

Good luck though Rick.

I would have jumped at the chance to work at Turtlerock, but I'm getting too old to jump, my ears are good but my eyes are shot, I'm too old and grumpy to give a toss but still young enough to mop a floor. A band? You mean a real band that plays real instruments?? Ha, you jest-there is no such beast except in a museum display case. 24 is the new 14 you know, 42 is the new 24. 42 year olds think with their brain not their ummm errr you know...... Jeez I'd do it for nothing other than just to learn and the occasional burger and a dirty joke...... Diagnosing computer hardware issues is very much one of my stronger points, a good boot usually does the trick......

Rick you are the voice of reason, I was starting to look for some audio work this week, just if not for something to do to fill in my days with a creative pursuit. Seriously though....... stuff it, listening to the same song over and over just does not do it for me anymore, it actually makes me queezy. Dealing with musicians...... even queezier.

A bit of gold or an absolute gem is a rare thing in the audio world but digging a hole in the bush where I play, well....... I can have gold and gems any day I please. \:D/

Good luck with your pursuit of finding a young, dynamic under 24 year old gem to train and pass on your valued knowledge, though I think we both know the only real gems are about 60,000,000 years old.

Ok enough jokes, this is a great offer for some young professional.
