Synth Bass FX plugin (RTAS) recommendations

Not looking for a synth plugin, but rather an effect that will take an existing real bass track and synth it up, a la Boss SYB pedal, EH micro synth etc. Can't seem to find anything that's not an actual synth plug in.

Recommendations?

Nothing comes to mind either.

I'm not sure what DAW you're using, but if you do some audio -> MIDI fu on your original bass track, you can sequence a bass synth track and blend as desired.

Other than that I'd look at maybe some envelope follower action, with some eq/filtering.

Of course, I should've mentioned that I was after quick and easy ;-) Otherwise, I might as well just re-play the bass part on a synth! But it's preferable to maintain the playing dynamics and feel of the original part.
