just wondering how you lot go about drawing out or planning out wiring for new installations?
i'm going to be a soldering iron wielding human in the next few months which should be just great fun but i'd like to get a really solid plan of it so i can discuss with others who will be using the space
any standard ways of doing it? drawing it?
cheers

Well first ya have to get rid of the squatter that's pooin in there hehehehe. (Yes I heard about it) They didn't say..is the studio going downstairs? You've seen my room's pretty clean wiring wise, but the one thing I wish I had is some under floor cable ducts, but we weren't abel to cut channels in the concrete. Something to think about. I would also think about doing an outline of the room in photoshop and printing a bunch out to pencil stuff in, because you know it's gonna change like a thousand times before it's finished. Fun times ahead..

For what it's worth, these days whenever I put non-mains cabling anywhere through a wall or duct or shaft, I always add 2 runs of ethernet cable just for fun, because down the track I will bet that you will be glad you did.

I'm doing the same thing at the moment, working out how many outlets I'll need plus where they will be situated. Mine are going under my flooring as it will be floated. I'll be running mic cables as well as ethernet cables out to another room for future use, yep best to spend on cables for future use now instead of pulling things up later.
Are they going to be floor or wall mounted?
