Oh my, the LA2A on a drum bus is killer! Parallel compression is big love.
I use the Fairchild when I want it to pump like a rock monster.

UAD cards and Processing power?

I upgraded to a new quadcore a while back and it was specced with 2 pci slots, but only had one as they upgraded the mobo without tellin me. A friend in the US put me onto this site

I got the single card one as I only have 2 UAD-1's and plan on switchhing to the UAD-2 as soon as available. Works fine but check you have enough clearance in your case. Mine makes it with a little to spare, it's one of those big black soprano cases. Oh yeah, and it needs power from the mobo so I had to get a y cord.
