Ok....it's been 6 months...I'm starting to wake in the middle of the night with cold sweats. :)
Any updates on what's happening with this wonderful gear?
I've noticed some pieces are making their way onto evilbay.

Personally, I'd hate to see this timeless collection go OS...

I found this on eBay- well worth a look. I'm assuming it's Norm.

Norm's son also sells on eBay using the Shedshite name, I bought some PT HD gear off him a couple of years back (he was living in Sydney at the time, no idea if he still does or not).

Is anyone open to talking more about the syndicate idea? :|

If the lot is worth 300k (plus) then my guess is you would probably want people to put in ~10k each? or in the 5-15k range? Maybe sort out a number then do a quick PM survey to see how many would be in for that much...

(just a suggestion. I can't be in said syndicate but would love to see it go ahead)

Thats about what I was thinking Hud.
10k x 30 people plus an annual levy of $1k to cover associated costs.
With a similar structure to what Evan and Manning have outlined earlier in this thread.

Insurance approx $6-8000 per year
Maintenance approx $10000 per year
Company costs approx $3000 per year
Calendar, inventory, roadcasing, transport, member rules, returns etc

It's a lot to think about I know. But where does it start? Hmmm...here I guess....

There are a couple of things that I could bring to the table as far as making it more workable, and most likely there are many more people that have plenty of skills to offer if there was a syndicate. I also feel that expressions of interest and discussions are probably the best way to approach the initial outline...then go from there.
Let's openly talk about it a bit more and see what floats.

I don't want to appear overly gung ho about this. If there's little interest then it will just fade away in my mind.
But we are all mostly here on this forum because great gear assists us to make great music sound pretty good. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity...and life only happens once...right?

A good starting point is - how many people can stump up $10K (say by Jun 30, for discussion's sake).

I'd be in, and I can think of at least 3 others. But that leaves 26.

Also as said previously, we can (and should) discuss this freely. But nothing is concrete until the lawyers and accountants have done their job.

There's also a couple of things in the list that could be moved on e.g. 2x MCI washing machines and the EMT plate.
Giving a quick return to members...and/or paying for the transport from WA.

I'm down...but it would be good to get the absolute definitive list and all in price from Norm.

perhaps pick up the phone and talk to Norm. You may find that a lot of the desirable units are already sold. ie the Fairchild ...
