Help overworked techie trying to get ideas down

Hi,

I am a full time pro-audio electronics technician trying to get my creative ideas down onto hard disc, (I'm into electronica) trying to get through that brick wall of technical boffinry (re-locating my home studio, trying to get over that 'having to have pc and software set up to latest specs' obsession) that makes me feel like it won't be worth it... I'm technically worn out from the nature of my work, and a lot of my gear needs a good waving of the soldering iron wand to get it finished/repaired. Thinking of minimilising my setup to the very least required... any suggestions? thanks. I'm also getting the most creative ideas right now than I have done for years.

If so, don't waste time soldering gear. Hire yourself a small studio, or rent the gear / hire the people you need to get started. Make the music while you're in the groove.

you might be interested in Fruity Loops...they originally were looked down upon, with good reason for being a low quality, crappy program...but since its inception, its improved alot, with more and more high quality features...

that said, it was designed to be one of the simplest programs to operate, and was made with the electronic musician in mind : )

i think youd be hardpressed getting any simpler than that :P
