703 type material for bass traps

Hey all,

Tweaking my room a bit more. Last round I used Bradford Soundscreen to build some broadband absorbers, seemed to help. It's not as rigid or dense as I was hoping for though.

Can someone suggest some batts that are rigid, and in the 50kg/m3 range that would make for good bass traps? For bonus points suggest a good Sydney supplier.

Thanks,
Anton

Hi Anton!

Acoustica in Annandale!

I don't remember the name of the product we bought from them but it's really good and dense. Similar to Acoustisorb. Comes in black or white and comes in difference sizes and thicknesses, up to 100mm I think. And it wasn't a million dollars.

It's performed really well. So say our vocal booth is small would be an understatement, so we were very cautious not to make it boomy. This 100mm stuff from acoustica has done an incredible job of knocking out the low end boom.

Best of luck,

Nick.

Bradford Ultratel is 48kg/m3 and should be pretty easy to get in Sydney. A lot of people use that as their 703 equiv's I've noticed.
