Hey Guys,

Darek from the band Intercooler (Brisbane) has set up is own studio
and i can't for the life of me work out what console it is??? Anyone?

The desk looks good but the rest of the chain is weak.........002 and looks like a lot of Behri#### gear. Hope I'm wrong.

I was a bit horrified to see be!@#$%^& on their equipment list the other day!

Hi there,

Its a soundtrac CP 6800.
I think its the second console type they made.
Meant to sound fairly dark.

Apparently the Black Lion mic pre upgrades make the unit sound HOT!!

Nothing really....but we are talking Pro studio or is this a project studio.

I'll admit i have a project studio as well...but it doesn't mean i can't make money from it ;-)

It costs a hell of a lot of money to buy something pretty decent in pro audio and i've been throwing ALL my money at this for over 20 years.(mainly in the synth area until recently).

As my little studio has just been completed, I thought i might send you guys a little look (and yes that is a PT 16 bit system on the right...and i have a sony 3348 as well(not shown)... 16 bit still sounds ok !)

I think you can do good work with a 002 if you never ever use the preamps. I mean when I went from a HD3 to a 002 I got the same plugin count on my g5, although I normally do not use 5 plugs a track like some people I know. What I lost well low latency plugins, the convertors are not HD level (I got a mytek DA to mix with) although I thought they were up to my old blackface digi.
The main annoyance was some automation stuff missing. No I did not miss ADC used Mix for years can slip a track or add time adjuster quickly to not annoy my work flow, I still used outboard eq and compressors with a 002.

NYMO. personally I normally have problems with smaller studios with only be!@#$%^& outboard saying they are pro. 16,24bit 48/96k I do not care. PS whats the desk. I know it just can't remember

Looks similar to a couple of soundtracs consoles i've seen. Almost considered buying one a while back but didn't hear to many positive things about them.

Looks cool though and probly wouldn't cost to much these days, relativly anyway.

Soundcraft TS series........ :-)
