"Clean" preamps for Re-Amping

Postby smash » Wed Dec 13, 2023 3:18 pm

Hi All,

After some recommendations for Pre's for ReAmping on the Front end...

I.E. I figure it should go something like...

Guitar -> DI -> Clean PreAmp

ProTools

Re-Amp -> Amp -> Mic -> Color PreAmp.

FWIW for re-amping I use an old Focusrite Platinum October, which has DI inputs on channels 1 and 2. One might say boringly transparent, but sometimes "what you play is what you get" is what you need!

For the re-amping itself I have added a ramp input to my Lamington kit tube amp.
