Nothing interesting or different there really. Just sounds like too much top 40 crap that already exists. From what I could tell the recordings sounded quite nice, just not my cup of tea musically.

Lyrically boring as well...

I know Simon. He's not a bad singer..
Sang with Drive who played The Bridge on Sundays at Rozelle.
Songs were ok - I didnt mind them..

So how is it that you hear Autotune so easily. I've never really used it myself. Maybe that's a good thing, I don't know. But I don't recognise it when I'm listening to it myself. If I record someone sing off key, I make them do it again right. If they can't do it right then I may just not play their CD again- hahaha. Unless it just has the vibe despite the singing off key.

i just find it very, very easy to hear. like nails on a blackboard.

but let's not use poor old simon as a launching pad for an autotune debate...

I'd be surprised if it is autotune.... any artifacts would be more like the crap myspace player.

There's autotune but wouldn't say it's over used. The guy can sing very well.

that bridge hotel gig was awesome back in the day! All the session guys, i was a biiiit to young to appreciate it and hadn't discovered the police and toto and alot of the other bits and pieces they played. still good friends with lloyd g from that lot

Natasha Stewart and Pete Northcote are frinds of mine also. They are all good folk. The Bridge was always a top gig. It was a shame when Brydon left for England - that's where Simon slipped in..

Yep, sure is - I forgot to add Louise Perryman - she and Brydon used to sing up a storm!! Her solo album is great too - smooth jazz :)
Victor Rounds played bass and Nic Sinclair sat in occasionally.
It was nice when they had guest players and singers there as well..

This album has just been released on itunes.

Whoever tracked/mixed it did a great job. Over that though is some killer songwriting and singing.
