I'm doing the lunchbox thing..... better for my wallet for now.
Can anyone tell me how the BA lunchboxes stack up against the API in terms of power etc?
I am wanting to set up with 1x Purple Biz, 1 x A-Designs P1 and 1 x Great River MP500NV for now anyway.
Not sure which eq or comp to get yet but really need the pre's.
Anyone?

The BA rack has more power, but also has a big power supply which is seperate to the rack. If you want portabilty the API will serve you better. The Biz is cleanish with a bit of attitude and heap of head room. The P-1 is nice with attitude and the Great River I would love to try out.

Yeah the great rivers I'd like to try also, also you should maybe check out a Buzz Audio Elixir pre, I'm getting superb results with that one, but as Nic said the P1's and Biz are great.
There is nothing wrong with the lunchboxes though they are a bit under powered for some modules, such as you would'nt want any more than 2 Elixirs in there as they draw 160ma each compared to say the P1's which draw about 80ma I think.
Though you can load them up, I've run I think 500ma worth of modules without any trouble, Tim Farrant from Buzz Audio says they are a little under rated and can go to about 500ma safely.
Anyway there are sooooo many options, you'll like most sure.
