Help sought to optimise home rig Manly area

Hi - would there be someone on this board willing to trade a bit of time (say an hour or two) for some dollars helping me review and optimise the setup of an existing small home rig (Manly area, Sydney). Ideally there's someone who would look at how I have my gear currently cabled/connected together to get the best possible result (signal-wise at least) from my recordings into my DAW. I just can't help but feel I could be doing it better....

Don't know if it's an optimistic call or not to hope to find someone willing to share some time and advice?

Basically I am just recording singer-songwriters in my front room, pre-production type stuff (no drums or bands) into Logic. If its helpful for someone to consider whether they could help or not the set up includes:

Mackie Onyx 1620 with firewire card
Motu 828 (original MK1 version)
Kurzweil K2600, K2000 and Yamaha AN1x keyboards
eMagic AMT8 midi interface. Mackie Control Universal
G5 iMac (PPC) OS 10.4.9, Logic 8 plus ext. drives
Great River ME-1NV mic pre
RNC comp/LA Audio EQX2/Lexicon MPX100
Neumann/Rode/Shure/Sontronics/MXL mics
Alesis Monitor Ones and RA-100 power amp
plus various software plugs

I know there's a mix of the good and the bad in there .... (eg as I have improved parts of the signal chain, I am now feeling my monitoring is a choke point...) so if anyone can help with some time/advice please PM me!

monitoring... you know, this will probably be widely disagreed with, but i thing monitoring quality is vastly over rated in terms of importance when people are doing their own stuff.

Obviously it's a different thing for a studio with different people coming through, but for someone doing their own thing you can really learn your music, and your speakers and what they do. Like really learn them.

dunno, just a though on the home studio thing...

Thanks very much for the offers of assistance Rick and Bennyboy! Heath (Heathen) lives close by and has very kindly offered to spend some time with me to go over various things. I really appreciate the willingness from you all to help me out... Michael, I can understand what you mean about monitoring your own stuff, I've stuck with the Alesis monitoring setup ever since I bought it 2nd hand years ago and I've grown to know the monitors, and how to compensate somewhat in my mixes for their shortcomings. I just feel nowadays that they're making me work harder than I have to...I'm looking forward to hearing some of my mixes on Heathen's monitors for reference.
