There's been a long thread about this over on Gearslutz for a while. Personally I think they priced it just a bit too high. I know it's a quality sidecar, but it's a bit high for the smaller places to afford and a bit short on features for bigger places to use. It would make a great tracking sidecar in addition to something bigger for mixing though.

I reckon it's actually a pretty good deal fully fitted. I bet it sounds superb. If santa dragged that down the chimney for me I'd be a very happy fella. Automation will be the icing on the cake.

It's probably got $40,000 worth of modules in it. I want 1 but I know I'm not getting 1, not yet anyway.

If you are making money in the music business go for it. If not stay in the box like everyone else.

At US$50K I'm re-inspired to work on my DIY console :-)

Or perhaps I'll scan ebay for when all those NBA stars start ditching their Neve's ....

It needs automation if it is going to compete with the Neve Genesis (or however they spell it)

Still waiting to see the new Chandler console.

Maybe, but if you're running a business in music you need to weigh the investment up against the functionality/potential return. I'm sure that coupled with some good live rooms and any producer would be happy to come there to track drums..... but I don't imagine they'll stay to mix on it. I reckon anyone with $63K Australian to invest is gonna want more than 16 channels and no tape returns. With the 16 channel extender you're up to around $100K and that's secondhand Neve territory. Mind you if money was no object I'd get one tomorrow.
I'm not API bashing or anything, I have a few pieces. I particular like the eq's and am getting some more from Daniel in January, but for 100K I'd get a secondhand Neve and just keep the lunchboxes for tracking stuff I wanted the API gear for. Or even look for a bigger secondhand API. I could see it in a private room maybe, be interesting to see how many they sell here. The Chandler sound pretty interesting. I wonder what the price is on it?

I have to agree there. You could pick up a used 48 channel SSL and import it for under $100k.
