New Staff and Mastering Engineers
For those that dont know Mark Bassett Jumped shipped from the Turtlerock two days before christmas and has moved to melbourne , where he is running the audio dept ( as in the boss !) for the JMC Academy
Mark is still overseeing the TR forum running the website and a valued member of the Turtlerock team is just that he is now getting paid well, living in another state, doesnt come to work here anymore and gets to be the boss without having to worry about the shit that goes with it
( i am thinking maybe i will apply as one of HIS employee )
meanwhile this week here the extremely talented and experienced Michael Carpenter has been busy scoping out the mastering rooms and has worked his way through TWO projects by himself both which met and EXCEEDED my expectations for the quality i need here at Turtlerock so i figure what the hell i am going to let him lose in the Turtlerock world
Michael can now be booked here for sessions at any time , we are still bouncing around numbers for his hourly mastering rate but it will be geared towards making sure he has plenty to do when he can pull himself away from his own endeavors
Robin Gist is stepping in nights and weekends to try and cover some of Marks work when i can wrestle him away from his his own things to do as well
and of course for those that haven't caught on already Greg Cameron ( 20 years at studio 301) is now residing in our tech room as permanent on site studio technician , keeping our ship sailing and still running his own freelance business but now here at camperdown.
but wait there is more
Phil Kaye started here Turtlerock yesterday and came straight in from high school and is possibly the youngest person in Australia to be really trained as a career mastering engineer since .. well since i was :)
these kinds of things dont happen around here every day so i figured i would post them up
not trying to jinx anything but i think this is shaping up to be the best team and the best year we have ever had , lets hope it a good one for those that hang around the Turtlerock forum as well .
now i have to get back to work - other late one tonight :(
