from left field...
I'm doing a live performance where I need to be able to record a number of different samples in real-time and play them back layered on top of each other, with the ability to switch them on and off so that I can vary the textures for each section of the piece. A bit weird I know. I was hoping to get hold of an electrix repeater because I believe it's capable of doing the job, but they're getting a bit rare and entirely too expensive. Can anyone think of a software solution or a suitable hardware solution?
I have Logic, Protools and Reason, as well as a MacBook Pro at my disposal.
Here's a link to a video of Imogen Heap doing what I want to be able to do for the performance... (I think she's using a repeater) just so you get the picture. Hopefully someone can up with something creative...
