Well I have the Digi 192 and some Lavry Blues and to be honest the digi's would be fine if your not doing to many conversions.
George Massenburg uses the Digi 192 convertors and I'm sure he knows what he's doing. And could afford more expensive if he wanted.
Anyway the Aurora's get a pretty good wrap from some and for the price would seem tempting if I were in your shoes.

Hi there,
I'll put my 2cents in for what its worth !
I have the Lynx Aurora 16's which are generally accepted as being better than the 192, but not as *warm * in the lower mids as the Apogee AD 16x.
That being said, if money is no object, go the Apogees, but you will be spending nearly twice as much as the Lynx (plus you get 16 digital i/o s as well on the Lynx)
You could also buy a Thermionic Culture Phoenix with the price difference ;-)
To quote someone ... YMMV
Peace.
cheers

I've got an AD16X, DA16X and a Rosetta 800. My opinion is that they are worth every cent.
The added benefit of the AD16X is that it's got a C777 clock chip inside, which is the same as the Big Ben.
I tried a few other converters too but settled on the Apogees. They rock.

Honestly see if you can get both to try. Everyones ears are different. Even if you pay P&H to get them from somewhere to demo.
Pretty sure Pony music have both so maybe chat to Damien/Geoff about what they think

id get the lynx....
we use hd2acell....and a uad1.....
I agree. I use a R800 and am a massive fan of it, but I'd have a hard time justifying the price difference between the Aurora & 16x series when they both sound so good anyway.

i'm about to make the same choice pretty soon.
out of curiosity, chris (linear) where did you source your apogee's from if you don't mind me asking?
i'm inclined to agree with NYMo re the price though, i could get some nice stuff with the difference.
