Studios on the North side of Sydney.

I an looking for a studio on the North shore to put a band into for a few days tracking, it needs to have a good drum room. I am not so worried about outboard as I have rolling racks with 18 Neve 1073's, Peach Savannah rack, a bunch of 1176's etc, in fact I have outboard coming out my ears, so the main issue is somewhere to set up a hefty drum kit in a room that sounds good, and a reasonable desk for monitoring. I have never worked anywhere on the North side, I looked around on the net and there seems to be dozens of studios, but I assume most are small project studios.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to good rooms over there?

Why only north of the city?
Peter Northcote's studio in St Peters "apparently" has the best drum room (as per Chad Wackeman)

thats also what i was thinking....

if money isnt an object...just go to Camperdown man, electric avenue....awesomest studio :) shitloads of the finest gear....and mega inspiring surrounds :)

....

also, Chris/Linear (off these forums) is in Liechardt, his place is called Linear Recording... has a sweet live space too....and has super affordable rates...

i think "good rooms"...come with good gear, and come with higher prices...

I am looking on the North side as the band members all live over there, so I am trying to save them travel time. Electric Avenue is booked solid at the time I need. I spoke to Chris, I am going to see if I can move things to this side of the Harbor (south) if I can, I think Linear would be a very good choice, but I do have to do what the band want if I can.

Thanks for that, don't know if they would spec out well enough for recording, but I do need a rehearsal space for 4 days before recording, so Continuum might be just the ticket... Thanks for the lead, I will call them tomorrow.

I know my "son's" band went down to Alberts recently just for their drum tracks and were more than happy with the result. I've only heard the unmastered product so far although I believe the guys are picking up the finished CDs while they're in Sydney..........playing at the Vinnie's concert at Barangaroo on Thursday night.
