Neve pre or similar in the Canberra area?

Hi folks,

I'm looking at doing some reamping in the next couple of weeks - to date I've used an SM57 -> avalon 2022 - I've been happy with the results.

More for curiosity than anything else, I was wondering if it is worth trying a neve/neve clone. The band's style is heavy with left and right guitars only, no double tracking - would a neve or similar add something to the mix that the avalon doesn't...?

If so, does anyone know whether there is one in the canberra area for hire?

Cheers,

Scott

Maybe take it to a local studio and try it out. Another solution if you have protools is download some demos like Mdsp channel G or similar. Hiring real Neve and shipping from interstate is not cheap.... could end up being a $500 hire or more for a 1 to 2 day hire.

Thanks guys,

Local studios are probably worth a look, fingers crossed...

Kurt, yeah - Aeon of Horus; most of the guys are overseas at Wacken - half their luck.

Cheers
