just been messing with the demos of some Tritone Digital plugins...

and i am amazed :)

i've only checked out AngelTone mastering EQ so far...wow, what a plug.

5 band eq...lets u choose "character" like the URS stuff for each band, Sontec, Millenia, Manley, Avalon... its a 70mB eq, when unzipped....

the sontec emulation friggin owns, even with -1 to +1 boosing and cutting, its magic !

i swear i dont work for these guys :P this shit has to be heard though!!!

Boy im in a product promotional mood this month, rofl, soon ill be marketing shit on sticks :P

I'll have to check them out when I get time.

havent tried UAD and all that jazz, but....definately give these a go!!

the picture on angeltone is exactly how you'll be feeling wehen you hear the high and low boost on this mutha!!

agree on ugly interface, I'll have to check out the sound though.

LOL - of course not, it's completey independent of the sound, but as a company, a more attractive looking plugin will make a better first impression, one might conclude ugly look = ugly sound without giving it a chance...

the mdw....is good, but after using it, day in day out. it didnt wow me that much...
as these guys advertise...these plugz have mojo :)

one might conclude ugly look = ugly sound without giving it a chance..

i hope ppl dont do that, hehe...algorithmix would be shit out of luck if everyone thought like that..

they make THE UGLIEST noise removal and eq i've ever seen....but sound amazing..

we got rid of clicks present in a WHOLE mix on one of my songs...shame about their look though :)

Well unless someone told me otherwise, id be tempted to choose a better looking plug over a dodgy looking one if i was put in a situation where i had to buy without getting to listen, but thats all completely hypothetical, because we have demo's so were not in that situation...

Completely OT -What do u think of PSP vintage warmer?

im not sure about PSP Vintage Warmer...

I tried it while mixing at a friends, and something fkd up in relation to the phase in the mixes everytime i switched it in...so i got over it pretty quick...as if the image shifted or something...however this plugin gets raves, so i GUESS either the system i was working on was rooted, or ppl are deaf :P

however, i do like heaps of the other PSP stuff, especially their LinPhase EQ Neon, the lexicon delays, the Saturator, and the MasterComp are all awesome (and look awesome) hehehe

What did you use it on?

meaning nothing was playing in parallel...got wierd sound...as if it went mono-ish, and moved to one side....wiierd?

Thanks Tim, yeah i meant which instrument or Buss etc...

I havent used it in quite a while, but i believe there was a mono/stereo setting or two...

I found it great for warming up/saturating vocals and you could also get some pretty fat bass guitar tones out of it... Hell, it sounded great on many things i tried it on, as a plugin substitute for pricey tube gear/analogue tape...

Oh yeah, i never tried it on the mix buss, or maybe i did, at any rate, vocals and bass are the things that stood out as loving to be smashed by the vintage warmer...

I'm not a fan of vintage warmer, never found a use for it, I prefer my Pendulum vintage warmer for that :) .

Neon eq hr version is pretty good, the fact it gives you ms option is cool, the fat button can sound pretty good sometimes, total cpu hog in lp + fat mode.

Mastercomp is one of the better plugin comps I reckon.

I think psp make pretty good fx though.

Tritone I tried but did'nt like much.

Algorithmix red is pretty good, evil cpu hog though.

Could'nt live without altiverb these days.

Still I don't like many plugs, I find myself using them less and less as they get supposedly better and better, I think maybe 1 or 2 here and there won't do too much damage but once they start building up across tracks they sound ugly.

Sometime before I had a good selection of hardware I found myself making rediculous plugin chains to try and get some vibe, but in the end usually sounded like a mess, some plugs don't report latency properly also adding to the frustration with phase problems.

I'm not bashing them as technology must move forward but I really think most sound thin, most analog gear I have and use just adds a thickness to the sound I can't get with plugs, no matter how much I try.

Actually 1 interesting plug is Nebula by Acusticaudio. It actually almost sounds real, but even with a super computer you're only gonna get a few instances of it running smoothly.

I think one I get an analog ms matrix I'll be using pretty much no plugins except fx, hopefully.

Still waiting for them to relese the sapler to sample real hardware.
