Ross Giles (Giles Audio) new DI
Ross Giles has updated his valve DI, i thought some of you would be interested in info and pics.
Ross' DI has been around for a while now and is well known and very highly regarded.
quote from ross -
"They are new in the sense that its a new case and front panel.
Its the same Di I've been making for the last twelve years.
Its a unique high voltage two valve design with the output coming out at line level and has a 3 Meg ohm input impedance.
I use a custom wound Sowter transformer, high quality Japanese made Azuma valve sockets and a rather expensive variable attenuator for the output control.
Its 15 cm high, 29 cm long (not including front controls}and weighs over 7 kilograms.
Its very dynamic sounding with lots of low level detail, revealing the subtle nuances in the playing.
Yet at the same time, very natural and musical sounding."
i don't work for ross or have any affiliation other than that i really like his approach to equipment design. that and the fact he has the most awesome collection of valves you've ever seen ;-)
anyway, if you're shopping for a valve DI you'd be nuts not to check this one out.
cheers, wez
