Hi all,

I've come into possession of an Astor EQ – it seems like a seriously built piece of gear but it has a very strange four pin male power connector (no cable came with the unit). Can anyone shed some light on where this unit may have come from and whether it's worth getting a tech to check it over and attach a new power connector / supply?

the unit looks and feels quality - figured it might have been a find for $30...

add two zeros and you probably paid $500 too much :)

Don't think so - 1ru 3 band – hf / lf / variable Q 'presence' – stepped frequency and boost / cut knobs, HEAVY.

nah these things were designed to supercede all the abc pultecs - which they did quite nicely

That would makes sense - looks like a pultec with a few extra bells and whistles... but no big knobs.

Nice score Text. Leave the post up but edit it by putting an M infront of the A ... Mastor eq...... might throw em off for a while, and we will remain the amused & privelaged few.. I passed a few up a while ago as they were too expensive for me ....... yes the seller had em at top dollar.

Oh yeah, the Mastor B8 is my favourite. Great for putting a little hair on tracks and has a lot of balls. I like to use it late at night when I'm mixing by myself. In fact...gotta go....

Beeringa make some really cool gear too, i use them when im mixing by myself as well :)

Actually had another think about this last night and actually reckon it's better not to try and obscure this type of information. I like spaces like this forum because people more knowledgeable than myself are happy to share their years (and ears) of experience. It's really not fair to deny or try and obscure that same information for anyone else and a bit hypocritical (on my part).

So yeah, hope someone else out there gets a similar lucky find.
