The "To Be Released" Mac operating system "Snow Leopard" includes a technology called "OpenCL" which will offload calculations to the Graphics card.

Posted: Mon Jan 12, 2009 11:14 amthe voltera kernel convolution plugins are said to be made to use video cards to run their hardware plugin emulations as well..
i have no clue if this is for real..so there may be a use for f@#$ off video card processing, even for us audio guys :)

They do have some ok sounding emulations but.................. Anyway probably one of the most interesting plugin developers, now we just need the power to run 50 instances of it.
