It's unlikely but it never hurts to ask, so on the off-chance:

I have some gear at my relative's place in Hampton and I'm reluctant to entrust it to couriers.
If anyone happens to be driving up here soon I'd be happy to swing some cash your way or a couple of cartons of beer of your choice to bring it up.

Gear consists of:

Pair Yamaha HS80M monitors, boxed.

Akai MPD24, boxed.

Roland RE-201 Space Echo, boxed.

Novation Remote SL49, boxed.

Bucket of cables.

I'd obviously only want someone regular on here, if you've just registered and no one knows you I'm not keen.

Your other option is to combine it all into a couple of larger boxes and send it as a backload. There are smaller trucking operators who do runs between capital cities, and they will add your box to their load, so they come to your place, you load it onto the truck and it stays there until it reaches the destination. That way it does not get tumbled through a courier operation between multiple trucks, conveyers and freight terminals.

Basically a furniture removals company that will give you a quite over the phone, pick up your items and deliver them door to door. You only pay for the space that your gear takes on the truck. Your boxes will be included in the free space on the truck that is doing an interstate removal job. The term "backload" means that your freight is being used to fill empty space on a truck that was making the trip anyway. It is a way for trucking firms to minimise empty space on their runs and make extra money.
