I'm looking for a cost effective device to convert adat and WC/BNC to a cat5 network connection and back again, I have 3 network points terminating in my office from various rooms in my house. I've found plenty of solutions which do adat (even 32ch) up to 150 metres but none which have a dedicated WC/BNC connection also. Syncing to adat is never fun so I just won't bother without WC.

Also I've found ones which do firewire to cat5, so this could be an option also.

I'm probably going to also run some madi cables under the flooring for the future, but geez madi is bloody expensive at the moment, so I'll be waiting a while.

Hmmmmmm I think I really can see a madi system in my future.

Just thinking about options at the moment.

Word Clock is essentially a Black Burst, or video signal. All of our sync/word clock generators send video black out. You could run your BNC word clock cable into one of these:

and then run your Cat 5 or alternatively, a little more complicated, BNC word clock into distribution amplifier

and then run BNC cable alongside your Cat 5.

After more thinking I'm just going to set up an RME madi system or similar, will probably get this eventually.

and this

It will just make life easier I think, will have to slum it with the old system for a while though.
