degausser, anyone?

Postby mfdu » Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:14 pm

hiya there all (sorry - should'a put in the trading post section)

i been trying to locate a headblock degausser - the basic version that looks like a soldering iron (not the bulk tape demag)

i tried everyone - rs components, amber tech, jaycar, audio oz, radio parts, dick smiths. they just don't come about any more.

does anyone on these boards have one in melbourne that they could loan to me every now and then? or maybe a spare they could swap for some wine, or cash?

i ain't a tape-only establishment, so i won't need it on a weekly or daily basis.

well, here's hoping.

thanks in advance,

chris.

Try the RB Annis Han-D-Mag. You can order them online from MusicLab in Queensland.

http://www.musiclab.com.au

They are specifically designed for de-magging headblocks.

A long time ago I bought a standard degausser for anything (TV's, erasing stuff etc) and that looks like a big dildo. not easy to get into tight headblock spaces. you can have that one if you want for $20 (if i can find it).

cheers

Chris

- i just checked the musiclab site and they're not listed anymore. don't know if they have them but I got mine less than 6 months ago.

Chris,

I dealt with R B Annis direct in the US about 12 months ago with no problems and at the time I seem to recall that it was an easier option than QLD.

Talking about "MusicLabs"..............does anyone know what happened to the Melbourne store "Music Lab"....they seemed to fall off the face of the WWW a year or so back.

Chris,

I only know of Melb's M/lab from online but even then it was a comprehensive site with good pricing info, etc. Some where along the line they seemed to disappear from my online radar.

RB Annis.......I thought I had a link but don't, however they should be easy to find through Google. From memory, that's how I originally tracked them down.

cheers,

chris.
