Did anyone happen to catch the show last night with Glen Hughes and Jason Mraz? Talk about 2 awesome singers. They did the bit where they sing lyrics to known songs out of old books. I was never into Sabbath, but Glen Hughes blew me away. I though there's no way Mraz could follow that, but he did just as good, totally different style but still great.

The Hughes/Coverdale era of Deep Purple is my favorite, i also have a great John Norum album that he sang on.

I did the backline for a charity gig called Childline Rock here in London in which Glen Hughes and
Jon Lord both performed, along with a bunch of other UK and European acts. Really nice, humble
blokes, but I agree... Glen Hughes was phenomenal out on stage! His vocals are absolutely incredible and
beautifully complimented by his bass playing.

Closely second was the original B3 organ with two leslie cabs that were rolled out of the back of the truck
to everyone's joy. Amazing! The eccentric tech that followed them was just as amusing. One of those
highly opinionated, overly knowledgeable, excreting passion types. Every conversation I had with him
went on for almost hours... and I'd walk away with a massive smile on my face thinking "That guys brilliant".
...like the crazy physics teacher you use to have in high school that gets really excited and wound up
talking about physics. hahaha.

I caught some of S&S last night...............the Hughes/Coverdale era of Deep Purple rocked, Come Taste The Band has always been my favourite DP album.

I saw it and yeah they were both great. But when Glen Hughes was singing I was thinking "oh yeah, it seriously wouldn't matter what mic was in front of him and it'd still sound awesome" He really "delivers" it when he sings, even some unrelated words from a strange book. I really need to switch off when I watch tele ;)

Has Glen Huges ever done any soul sorta stuff? Man I'd love to hear that..
