I am looking to take up the Chameleon Labs Channel Strip offer ( buy 2 7602 MKII and get a 7802 free for US and CANADA only) Buying from a US store.

I understand that the 7802 Opto compressor has a power switch for 220v but I dont quite understand the power on the 7602MkII " 24VAC Adapter: Each Model 7602 MKII ships with a mid-line power supply, type-dependent on country of operation. This is not a traditional "wall-wart" but simply an outboard AC transformer. DC filtering and regulation is accomplished inside the 7602 MKII itself.

I understand what a wallwart is but what are they talking about?
More importantly if I get this from the US I assume it will come with US 24VAC Adapter mid-line power supply outboard AC transformer. DC filtering and regulation is accomplished inside the 7602 MKII itself. SO ANyone know what this thing will look like?

I reckon it is fair to assume that a "mid-line power supply" is like one of these :



these are essentially a plug pack but the "guts" of the unit is a lump with a cord coming out one end supplying the low volts to the unit and a cord coming out the other end going to a mains plug. Sometimes these units have an IEC or cloverleaf socket for the mains lead end.

just make sure they supply one for 230~240Vac. This is often the big hickup with purchasing from a US online store, chances are high that you'll get a power supply for 110Vac regardless how much you make clear you are in Australia and require a suitable supply.

AKA a "line lump" power supply.

Like a laptop power supply!!

I mentioned I didnt want B stock, and they need to get aussie power as well. I told the guy I will buy LOTS more from him if he does right :-)

Shane assures me he will not give B stock...I intend to do much more business with him :-)
