vinyl in my new room

just been spinning white label disks in my newly finished listening room
playing some albums I recorded over 20 years ago. Mixed live to 4 track, no compression except a tad on the vocals.
despite some rough patches...I tell ya...it don't get much better :)

Vinyl is great. I've been buying all my new music on Vinyl. It's a pleasure to sit and listen.

Vinyl is back with a vengeance. Well, for this week anyway.
Our clients are mainly indy kids paying for their own recordings and pressings. To these folk, the current perceived value of a CD is negligible.
Nearly every band we have dealt with in the last 6 months or so is doing a vinyl release, either exclusively, or in conjunction with CD's, which are now pressed up begrudgingly.
I'd expect world wide stats from vinyl plants would back this up.

I never thought of it before but a vinyl only release is a good form of copy protection.
It takes a lot more effort and time to 'rip' a record with decent quality....most of the consumers with the capability probably wouldn't share it.
The cool factor of vinyl makes paying for it much more likely too...its somehow more tangible than a CD

Absolutley - I agree.
Would be nice to see vinyl make a major comeback i.e mainstream releases..

I Dream of Jeannie but I still don't like records :)
The last record I bought was Iron Maiden - Piece of mind in 1986... When it got stolen I got it on cd instead. Never got nostalgic for vinyl, don't miss it at all.
