More Stolen Gear

Don't know if Jarrad posts here, this was forwarded to me :

"Hi guys,
Unfortunately Oaklands has once again been the victim of thieves, this time coming in and hiring a heap of high end gear and instead of returning it they decided to keep it for themselves.
The gear that was taken this time is:

1 x Neumann U67

1 x Neumann U87

2 x Neumann MK184

1 x Milllennia HV3D-8

1 x Universal Audio LA2A

Attached is a photo of the two theives, the one that signed for the hire is Ashour Batouli and the other one is Serge. If anyone knows these men then please let me know, current intel leads us to believe they have gone overseas with the gear, they moved out of the address on the drivers licence they used to hire the gear with a week before the theft with no forwarding address.

It’s not a good year for me as most of you already know the studio was robbed back in February, once again I will start the process of replacing the stolen equipment and hope that my bad luck doesn’t continue any further.

Sorry for the bulk email but the more people that know about it in the industry the more chance we'll find someone that knows the men in question.

Thanks

Jarrad Gilson

I have the pic as pdf but can't attach here.

That is shit, I really feel for the guy. I'm just sick and tired of hearing people getting away with this.

MacGyver would be sad also.

Man that sucks. I hope they get caught and the gear returned.

I've often though about the idea of a website that lists stolen sound/studio gear by description and serial# in which studio's across the world could update if hit and buyers of second hand gear could check before they buy and report to authorities if suss. Might lead to a few more convictions if theives take gear overseas but would probably take alot of working together in the industry for it to work?

The reason I wont hire to anybody. If they want the gear they can hire the room with the assistant or go dream.

Yeah, just not worth the risk. Even with insurance sometimes some gear just can't be replaced.
