hi end mic hires in melbourne?

Postby mylesgm » Sun Oct 18, 2009 7:24 am

I'm recording the second Melbourne Guitar Quartet album next weekend and don't have access to the mics we originally used for the first album. We're trying to recreate the sound of that album so I'm looking for hires of the following mics in melbourne. There will be at least three to four sessions over a few months so it needs to be a repeatable hire to maintain the sound from session to session.

I need a pair of hi-end omni's DPA, B and K etc, 4006 or similar. We originally used the 130v set and they sound beautiful

I need a pair of u89's and/or a pair of TLM170's.

Anybody going to give me hope?

pm me and I'll call to organise price and collection.

Kaj at Sing Sing has hired me U89's on a bunch of sessions. Don't know about the B&K types though.

i hired some B&Ks from Pink Noise, it was years ago but they'd be worth a try.

Give Murray Tregonning & Associates a try. They have the DPA 4006 as M&K are now badged as DPA mics, and the TLM 170
