Doesn't Hugh Covill work for the Melbourne Arts Centre?

After looking at it suggests its Australian down in Victoria somewhere possibly Melbourne.
Not too sure he would have wanted all this info plastered on a forum but it was the chance he took by sending it to you.

Hi Guys,
Just thought I should clear this up. Hugh is legit. I bought a few cheap ribbons from him a year or so ago. I got the royer style stereo ribbon knock off. Its a cool mic and is amazing for the little money I paid for it. Ask Barney or Myles about the mods you can do to them. He sells on ebay also. A good guy who knows his microphones (the cheap ones anyway).
So all good here, you can buy with confidence.

Agreed, he sells mics on ebay often.

Well I can only really comment on the stereo ribbon. Its a great mic as overheads. I'm sure next to the real thing there will be a difference, but in the mix it does its job well. And thats talking stock. Also works a treat as a room mic. I hear the big lollipop ones he has are great also. I'll be looking to get a pair soon I hope.

I have the stereo ribbon which now has Lundhal transformers and re ribboned by Glen Phiemister and is great on piano. Still need heaps of gain though.

and great for drums, rooms, m/s, blumlein etc. I've got 2, one with lundahls and one stock. Need plenty of gain but they are lots of fun. I know it sounds weird but in a particular recording of a trombone quartet it dumbfounded us and beat a pair of u87's and a pair of akg c460's.
