Trade publications outside of the mainstream?

Postby vanderlae » Wed Dec 02, 2009 10:11 am

We all know about the AustralAsian Music Industry Directory, but is anyone aware of an equivalent trade publication for Production Music/Composition as a resource to the Advertising, TV and Film industry? I've asked the AMID about this category and there are no plans to include anytime soon.

Thought you may know.

Cheers.

Encore magazine publishes an industry directory every year. It's a hard bound, thick book of contacts and ads. Everything you need is there. Every post house and ad agency in the country has one.

Yes, Encore and I think maybe B and T do some stuff through their website.

Thank you.

I see that the new edition was released on the 27th November already, damn! There goes my boat for a placement.

Good to know however, cheers.

Okay I've missed the deadline for listing in the Encore Directory but I'm told they will still list me in the online directory.

Is this used to the same degree as the paper publication in your opinion?

Also, there's a Web Guide section in the back of Encore mag which they can have me listed in. Does anyone have an opinion on the worth of this in relation to readship and plainly, if anyone even reads this back section??!

thanks.

I'm in this one http://www.productionbook.com.au/home.aspx . The film industry bible.

But you have to promise to keep it a secret.
